A Work Session to Discuss the Fire and Rescue Long Range Service Plan Including Proposed Modifications to Such Plan; Issues of Ownership of Current and Future Facilities, Long-Term Financing Options for Facilities, and the Fiscal Implications of a County Guarantee of Such Financing

Topic Description:

On November 10, 2005, the Board of Supervisors reviewed the Long Range Service Plan and opted to revisit the issue of its adoption in December in order to consider changes proposed by the Fire and Rescue Association.  The Board also requested further information on the issue of ownership of facilities, financing of facilities and the long-term fiscal implications of the County guaranteeing such financing.  This work session is intended to address these issues.

The Long Range Service Plan is a fifty-page document which has been presented to the Board of Supervisors previously and is on file in the Board Office for review.


Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Conduct a work session.

Financial Impacts Analysis: 


None.  The Long Range Service Plan is a conceptual plan and each project is subject to separate appropriation.
