A
Resolution Concerning Acceptance of Mangum Court into the
Secondary System of State Highways for Maintenance
|
|
Topic Description: |
|
The construction of Mangum Court in
the Botha Subdivision has been completed and inspected by
the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). VDOT has
advised Fauquier County that the street construction meets
State requirements. As a part of the process of requesting
the street be accepted into the State system for maintenance
purposes, the developer, in this case the County, is
required to post a bond for $7,500 and provide a maintenance
fee of $500.00.
In lieu of posting a bond, Fauquier
County can adopt a resolution that pledges financial
responsibility in the event that repairs are required within
the first year of acceptance into the State system.
|
|
Requested Action of the
Board of Supervisors:
|
|
Consider adoption of the
attached resolution.
|
|
Financial Impacts Analysis: |
|
It is
not anticipated that repairs will be required in the coming
year. However, if there is a need for repair, Fauquier
County will be liable for an amount not to exceed $7,500.00. |
