A Resolution to Approve Travel Expenses in Accordance with Travel Policy and Procedures – Office of Management & Budget

Topic Description:

Fauquier County’s adopted policy AP-06 (“Travel Policy and Procedures”) requires Board of Supervisors approval for travel where expenses are anticipated to exceed $1,500.  This item requests the Board’s approval for the Director of Management & Budget to attend the Government Finance Officers’ Association’s (GFOA) annual conference and the semiannual meeting of the GFOA Committee on Budgeting and Fiscal Policy, which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 4-9, 2010. 

As a part of the employment offer for this position it was indicated that the County would support continued participation on this important committee.  Funds were included in the FY 2010 budget for this purpose.  The total cost is estimated at $1,800. 


Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The necessary funding was included in the FY 2010 budget.
