A Resolution Supporting the  Owner-Initiated Nomination of “Hopefield” for Placement on the Virginia Landmarks and National Registers

Topic Description:

Mrs. Hope Wallach Porter is nominating her property known as “Hopefield” to the Virginia Landmarks and National Registers. Mrs. Porter commissioned architectural historian Cheryl H. Shepherd to write a detailed history of the circa 1855-1924 house, outbuildings and 168-acre farm. The buildings are significant examples of Colonial Revival architecture. The landscapes around the buildings are also historically significant.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Consider adopting the attached resolution.
