A Resolution Authorizing the County Administrator and County Attorney to Take All Actions Necessary to Extend the Existence of the Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority for a Period of Fifty (50) Years

Topic Description:

On April 9, 1964, the Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution creating the Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority, with the State Corporation Commission issuing the Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority’s charter on May 20, 1964.  On April 10, 1975, the Board of Supervisors approved a 50 year extension to the charter of the Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority.  The Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority is requesting that the Board of Supervisors once again extend its charter which would permit the Water and Sanitation Authority to obtain financing where the terms of the financing would exceed the current expiration date of the charter.  Adoption of the attached resolution will extend the Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority’s charter for an additional 50 year period from the date of the resolution.

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
