Topic: 

A Resolution Opposing the 500 kV  Power Line Proposed by Dominion and Allegheny Power and the Federal Designation Requested for this Line

Topic Description:

Dominion Virginia Power (Dominion) and Allegheny Power have proposed to build a five-hundred kilovolt electric transmission line connecting the Mount Storm power station in West Virginia with the Loudoun County substation in Northern Virginia.  The Fauquier County Board of Supervisors opposes this line as the Board does not believe that Federal regulations were followed appropriately.  In addition, under this proposal, the line would deface land under conservation easements, historic battlefields, National and State landmarks, and stream and creek areas.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
