Topic: 

A Resolution to Renew the Cooperative Fishery Management Agreement Between Fauquier County and the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries

 Topic Description:

Consideration of a resolution to renew the Cooperative Fishery Management Agreement between Fauquier County and the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) that was signed in 2001, for ten (10) years from January 1, 2007 through January 1, 2017, and to add the ponds in the Northern and Central Fauquier Sports Complexes to the Agreement which covered Germantown Lake.  Under the Agreement, VDGIF provides surveys to maintain safe fish habitat and population, as well as restocking services as funds permit.  The County has received services valued at over $10,000 since 2001 when the Agreement was initiated.  After signature and upon renewal of the Agreement, the Parks and Recreation Southern Region Superintendent will be the Fauquier County contact for VDGIF to manage the services covered by this Agreement. 

 

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
