Consideration of a
resolution to replace the current Lake Brittle Concession
Agreement that commenced on February 1, 2002 with a
Cooperative Agreement between the County of Fauquier and the
Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Game and Inland
Fisheries.
The current Lake Brittle
Concession Agreement 5-year term expires February 1, 2007,
and requires 60-day notice to terminate. The new twenty
five (25) year Agreement allows Fauquier County and the
Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries to
cooperatively improve and operate the Lake Brittle
property. The Agreement includes all grounds, water, and
facilities within the Lake Brittle property. Under the
Agreement, Fauquier County shall be responsible for all
day-to-day maintenance and operations. Virginia Department
of Game and Inland Fisheries shall be responsible for dam
safety compliance with State regulations and applicable
safety responsibilities and fishery management. Fauquier
County Parks and Recreation Board is proposing other
significant changes, such as building a Fishing Resource
Center at Lake Brittle within two (2) years.
Note:
This is the proposed document that has not been submitted to
the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.
Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Board is requesting
Board of Supervisor approval of the Agreement prior to
submittal to the Virginia Department of Game and Inland
Fisheries for review. |
