Topic: 

A Resolution to Authorize the Social Services Board and the Staff of the Department of Social Services to Support the Legislative Positions of the Virginia League of Social Services Executive

Topic Description:

At the November 28, 2006 meeting of the Fauquier County Social Services Board, the Legislative Program of the League of Social Services Executives was reviewed and endorsed.  The Social Services Board and staff of the Department of Social Services are seeking the concurrence of the Board of Supervisors to support the legislative program on behalf of Fauquier County.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The Legislative Program seeks to restore funding to local departments to maintain the State and local partnership in delivering vital social services.  It also brings attention to the developing need to consider issues pertaining to long-term care.
