Topic: 

 A Resolution Authorizing the Establishment of a Career Ladder for Assistant County Attorneys within the Office of the County Attorney

Topic Description:

 The County Attorney requests authorization to implement a career ladder for assistant county attorneys to afford them career opportunities and assist with retention of trained and experienced staff.  The career ladder would provide a foundation for employees to advance from assistant county attorney to senior assistant county attorney as identified criteria are met.            

This request has received the unanimous endorsement of both the Personnel and Finance Committees.      

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

 Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

 The present financial impact of this request is $2,079 per position.  On November 20, 2003, the Finance Committee unanimously approve reallocation of funds within the County Attorney's office budget to cover the financial impact of this request.
