Why Recycle?

Recycling porcelain saves landfill space and provides for a needed material that can be used as road base around the landfill saving the need to purchase gravel.

Uses:

Porcelain is ground into different sizes for various reuses such as; art projects, rock gardens and paving filler.

Crushed porcelain has also been used when restoring oyster reefs in the Chesapeake Bay and though expensive to transport to the bay, crushed toilets made for an ideal habitat to the bay’s recuperating oyster population. (Chesapeake Bay Journal, 11/04)
