Conditions may change rapidly during inclement weather, but generally, on weekdays the library closes during inclement weather when county offices close. Weekday closures are announced on all network television stations, many radio stations, and on the county website. If you are uncertain about library hours during inclement weather, especially on weekends, call 540-422-8500 to confirm scheduled events or the library’s planned hours of operation.
Fauquier County libraries observe most federal and state holidays. The libraries will be closed on the following dates:

- Monday, September 2 (Labor Day)
- Monday, October 14 (Columbus Day)
- Monday, November 11 (Veteran's Day)
- Wednesday, November 27 - the library will close at 12 p.m.

- Wednesday, December 25 (Christmas Day)
