ASSISTANT COMMONWEALTH ATTORNEY ASSAULTED
Larry Johnson, 36 year old male of Purcellville, Virginia, has been arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding by Detective M. R. Zeets of the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
On October 16, 2006 at approximately 3:47 p.m., Johnson, who had just been convicted in a jury trial in the Fauquier County Circuit Court, approached and then struck Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Kevin Casey in the left side of his head. Deputies in the courtroom were able to subdue and bring Johnson under control.
Mr. Casey was transported by rescue squad to the Fauquier Hospital Emergency Room for treatment and released later in the evening.
Johnson is currently being held in the Northwest Regional Detention Center in Winchester, Virginia without bond.
