ZONING
Zoning staff is responsible for administering, enforcing and updating the County’s Zoning Ordinance. Staff provides information to the public regarding Zoning Ordinance requirements, and provides technical analysis of Zoning Ordinance requirements to the public in the form of Zoning Certifications, Zoning Interpretations and Subdivision Potential Analyses.
Staff coordinates the review, processing and approval of all Administrative Permit and Modification, Site Plans, Special Permit, Variance and Agricultural and Forestal District Applications, and provides zoning review for other land development applications, including Zoning Permits, Rezonings, Special Exceptions, Preliminary Plats and Construction Plans. The Zoning staff also provide support to a number of Boards, Commissions and Committees, including the: Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors, Board of Zoning Appeals, Agricultural and Forestal District Committee.
Enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance and requirements of other land use approvals is also a function of the Zoning staff. The staff receives and investigates complaints related to zoning issues, including the tracking and enforcement of rezoning proffer requirements.
