Dear Resident/Landowner:

Welcome to The Fauquier County Department of Environmental Services. We are here to assist you in your household trash and recycling needs. We have a 24 hour Information line to help with questions after hours and on weekends. The Information Line number is (540) 347-6810. Should you have a question requiring office assistance, please call (540) 347-6811, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Please complete the Request for Non-Commercial/Residential Special Exception Permit form. Special exception permits are issued for out of County residents who also own property in Fauquier County; and residents who use a business vehicle to deliver their household trash or borrow a vehicle with an out-of-County sticker. The Special Exception Permit is to be used only for residential purposes; for a specific vehicle and only those named on the Special Exception Permit, their spouse, or adult children will be authorized to use the Landfill and Convenience Sites. The only exception to this policy are senior citizens or handicapped residents who must rely on hired help for household trash and yard clean-up services. This means that residents cannot pass the permit to a contractor/hired-help to be considered as residential. A contractor/hired-help is considered commercial business and will not be honored as residential.

There is no fee for this permit.
