Birthday Book Club
Celebrate a child’s birthday in a special way — honor them by a donating a book to the library. For a donation of $25 or more the library will purchase a book in honor of your child’s birthday and place a special bookplate bearing the child’s name inside the book. Birthday greetings and a donation acknowledgement will be mailed to the honoree. Send cash or a check, payable to Fauquier County Public Library, along with a completed donation form (PDF) to Linda Yowell, Fauquier County Public Library, 11 Winchester St., Warrenton, VA 20186 or drop it off at your local library.
Monetary gifts and bequests from individuals, businesses and civic organizations are always needed. Donations can be made in memory or in honor of a friend, family member, teacher or any other significant person in your life. You may request the item be chosen in a particular subject matter. Honorees or their families will be notified of your donation and a gift plate will be placed in the item purchased. You will receive a letter of acknowledgement. Consider including Fauquier County Public Library in your will or as a beneficiary in trust. Speak to your banker, attorney or financial advisor to help you make the necessary arrangements to make this type of donation.
Amazon Wish Lists
The library maintains a list of needed materials online through Amazon.com as "wish lists" for children and adults, as well as DVDs. Pick one or more titles from the lists. While ordering, be sure to check the box “This will be a gift” so that the library is notified of your donation. Then, proceed to pay online. Amazon will ship your donation directly to the library. New items are added to the lists throughout the year.

Donate Gently Used Books and Materials
The library accepts gifts of new and used books, audio recordings, DVDs and similar materials in good condition. If you have more than one box of items to donate, please make arrangements in advance by calling (540) 422-8504. See details on how the library integrates used books into the collection.
Become a Friend
Friends work to increase the level of support the library receives from private sources, principally from citizens who appreciate the privileges of a great library. Proceeds from the Friends' Book Cellar enable the library to purchase special items and to present cultural events for children, teens and adults. Join the Friends now or get more information. Volunteer Support your library through a gift of your time. The library has a variety of volunteer positions. Volunteers must be 13 or older. Applications are available at all library locations, or fill out an online application now. See our volunteer page for more details.
