Genealogy and Local History

Do I need a library card to use the Virginiana Room?
No, however, photo identification with a current address is necessary to use Virginiana resources. Identification can be established with a driver’s license, school identification card, or other valid identification issued by a government agency. If none of these are available, a library supervisor may accept other reasonable forms of identification that establish identity. The identification card will be held until the patron exits the Virginana Room.

May I borrow materials from the Virginiana Room?
In many cases, materials in the Virginiana Room are for library use only. However, in some cases, materials may be checked out. If a "date due" sticker is affixed to the back of the book, then you'll know it may be checked out. Ask the reference librarian for more details or if you have any questions.
