Marshall Afternoon Book Club

The John Marshall Library's Book Club meets at 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month (unless otherwise noted) in the Marshall Community Center Cafe. New members are always welcome. For more information about the group, call or e-mail Debbie Cosby, (540) 422-8500, option "4." The group will be discussing the following selections in 2010:

Feb. 10: The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton

March 10: Out Stealing Horses by Per Petterson

April 14: The Lemon Tree: an Arab, a Jew, and the Heart of the Middle East by Sandy Tolan

May 12: George or Martha Washington biography + trip to Mount Vernon

June 9: Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls

July 14: An Unfinished Season by Ward Just

Aug. 11: The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Sept. 8: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer

Oct. 13: Day After Night by Anita Diamant

Nov. 10: Wolf Hall by Hilary Mandel

Dec. 8: Holiday celebration; no assigned readings
