Special Events

Santa Claus is coming to town! - A family event. Meet Mrs. Claus too, and hear Christmas stories. Don’t forget to bring your camera! (Sponsored by the Friends of the Fauquier Library.)

Holiday Open House - The Bealeton Library is hosting an open house after the Bealeton community Christmas parade Saturday, Dec. 12. The parade starts around noon, and afterward everyone is invited to stop by the Bealeton Library to enjoy refreshments and an award ceremony. Children and their families are also invited to participate in a post-parade Christmas craft program. (Call (540)439-9301 for more details on the parade.)

Ongoing Programs

Paws to Read - For rising 1st through 3rd graders; choose a favorite book to read aloud to a trained therapy dog. Signed permission slips are required before participating and are available at the library.

Family Movies - Enjoy movies, rated G or PG. Popcorn will be served.

Free Tutoring for Students - Tutoring provided for students in elementary school and up by Liberty High School National Honor Society members. Please note that there will be no tutoring when schools are closed.

  • Bealeton Library: 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays

Story Times

Baby Steps - A 30-minute program for infants up to 18 months old. Babies will have fun bouncing, clapping, seeing finger plays and singing to rhymes and songs with their caregivers.

  • Warrenton Library: 10:30 a.m. Mondays
  • Bealeton Library: 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays

Pajama Story Time - Recommended for preschoolers and early elementary age children with a parent or caregiver. Come to the library in your PJs for some pre-bedtime fun. This 30-minute story time features songs, rhymes and stories for the whole family to enjoy.

Half Pints - Stories, songs and activities for 18- to 30-month old children with a parent or caregiver.

  • Warrenton Library: 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays
  • Warrenton Library: 11:15 a.m. Tuesdays
  • Bealeton Library: 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays

Toddler Story Time - For 2- to 3-year-old children with a parent or caregiver.

  • Warrenton Library: 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays
  • Warrenton Library: 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays

Preschooler Story Time - For 3- to 5-year-old children with a parent or caregiver. Independent story time; parents and caregivers must remain in the children's areas.
