Daytime Burglary Investigations
The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the recent daytime burglaries of three private homes in the Halfway Rd and Atoka Rd area of northern Fauquier County.
On October 23, 2012, a home in the 4000 block of Halfway Rd was entered during the afternoon and large amount of jewelry was taken.
On November 16, 2012, a home in the 1700 block of Halfway Rd was entered during the day, sterling silver and cash was taken.
On December 13, 2012, at home in the 2700 block of Atoka Rd was entered during the day and jewelry and medication was taken.
Each of these homes was entered by breaking the glass window of a door and unlocking the door. Two doors on the Atoka Rd home were broken however they were unable to be unlocked and the perpetrator(s) entered through an unlocked door.
Also during the December 7th to 11th timeframe the neighborhood in the Clarke’s Meadow, Logan Jay Drive area of Opal/Bealeton experienced numerous attempted burglaries.
Numerous homes were discovered to have screens on doors or windows cut near the lock mechanism. Entry was not gained at any of these homes and these incidents occurred during the nighttime hours.
