Purpose

Encompass Community Supports (formally known as Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board) was formed in 1972, which includes a combined Area Agency on Aging and Community Services Board. This combination makes Encompass a unique organization and it continues to be the only such combined agency in Virginia. 

Its mission is to improve the quality of life in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock Counties by providing comprehensive mental health, substance use, developmental disability, housing, children's, and aging services.

Authority

The Encompass Community Supports Board was created as a result of the acts of the Virginia General Assembly and the Federal Older Americans Act and is established in conformance with the Code of Virginia. 

Term

Board members serve staggered three-year terms.
