Adult Paranormal Investigations: Chilton House
The Town of Warrenton changed sides approximately 67 times during the Civil War. The backyard of the Chilton House, built in 1820, served as camp for both union and confederate troops. Civil War era bullets are still found regularly on the grounds. Today, the property includes nearly an acre of the original farm and many of the original outbuildings still exist, including a pumphouse, stable, well, smokehouse, summer kitchen, recently renovated as a guest cottage, and a squab coop, where pigeons were raised for meat, sale and barter until the 1950s. The home is owned by the 10th generation of the Chilton Family. The first member of the Chilton's was Mary Chilton, age 13, who is honored as the first woman who stepped ashore at Plymouth Rock in 1620.
