The Fauquier County Sheriff's Department reports a recent water rescue at Riverside Preserve, where two adults and three children were safely rescued from the river. We extend our gratitude to the Fauquier County Fire Rescue System for their swift and effective response.

In response to ongoing and upcoming rain events, Fauquier County Parks & Recreation has temporarily closed the Rappahannock River access points at Riverside Preserve in Marshall and Rector Tract in Remington. These closures are in effect until further notice to ensure public safety. While current visitors on the water can still exit at these locations, entry into the river at these points is currently prohibited.
