CULPEPER – The Virginia Department of Transportation has implemented a new traffic pattern at the intersection of Route 605 (Dumfries Road) and Route 603 (Greenwich Road) in Fauquier County.
The intersection, which previously operated as a two-way stop, is now a four-way stop. Crews have installed new stop signs, “All Way” plaques, and pavement markings to improve visibility and ensure drivers are aware of the change.
Motorists approaching the intersection from all directions must now come to a complete stop before proceeding. Drivers are encouraged to use caution, watch for pavement markings, and be alert to other vehicles adjusting to the new traffic pattern.
Local updates about conditions in VDOT’s Culpeper District are posted to VDOT's social channels.
Current traffic conditions, VDOT’s statewide network of traffic cameras, and other travel information are available on the 511Virginia website, the free VDOT 511 mobile app, or by calling 511 from any phone in Virginia.
VDOT’s Culpeper District includes the counties of Albemarle, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock. The independent city of Charlottesville maintains its own roads.
