 Biographical Sketch

Christopher T. Butler

Christopher Todd Butler is a native of Fauquier County. He graduated from Fauquier High School in 1986 and then pursued a career in public service as a Deputy Sheriff with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.  Following his retirement from law enforcement, Mr. Butler went on to become a Certified Occupational Safety Supervisor.  He is currently the Safety Director for S.W. Rogers Company, Inc.

Mr. Butler was elected to serve the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors on behalf of the Lee Magisterial District in 2016.  Mr. Butler served as Vice Chair in 2017, and then presided as the Chairman of the Board in 2018-2019.  Mr. Butler was re-elected for a second term of office beginning in January 2020.  He currently sits on several committees including the Fauquier County Agricultural and Forestal District, Agricultural Advisory Committee, Broadband Authority, Personnel Committee, Public Safety Committee, Quantico Civilian/Military Community Relations Executive Council, Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission, Rappahannock River Basin Commission, Regional Jail Board, Transportation Committee, and Regional Transportation Planning Board.

Mr. Butler is actively involved in the community.  He attends Bealeton Baptist Church, and serves on the Fauquier Crime Commission as well as the Fauquier County Fair Board.  Mr. Butler enthusiastically supports the Remington Volunteer Fire Department, the Remington Fall Festival, and the Sumerduck Ruritan Club.  

Mr. Butler enjoys farming and spending time with his wife Lisa, their children Mary and Brandon, and two golden doodles Duke and Pippa.
