R. Holder Trumbo, Jr.
Holder Trumbo, Jr. is a lifelong resident of Fauquier County. He graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1987. Mr. Trumbo has many years of business experience in commercial retail and managed the family IGA grocery business until 2015. Presently, Mr. Trumbo is the proprietor of H&H Auto Garage, a classic automobile and motorcycle storage facility in Marshall, Virginia.
Mr. Trumbo was first elected to the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors on behalf of the Scott Magisterial District in 2008. He was then re-elected to serve another four-year term in 2012. Mr. Trumbo was re-elected for a third term of office in 2016. Mr. Trumbo was re-elected and sworn in for his fourth term in January 2020. Mr. Trumbo was Vice Chair in 2008, 2011 and 2020. He was Chairman of the Board in 2009, 2012 and 2013. Mr. Trumbo currently serves on the Fauquier County Broadband Authority, the Board of Supervisors/School Board Liaison Committee, Facilities Planning and Implementation Committee and the Town/County Liaison Committee.
Mr. Trumbo is very engaged in community activities. He is a founding member of the Marshall Business and Residents Association. Mr. Trumbo was appointed to the Fauquier County Planning Commission, and served as its Chairman in 2007. He chaired the New Baltimore Service District Comprehensive Plan Citizen’s Review group. Mr. Trumbo also served on the Capital Improvement Plan Citizen’s Review Committee, and the Piedmont Workforce Network Council.
Mr. Trumbo is a member of Grace Bible Church in Marshall. He and his wife Heather have three children Julia, Tommy, and Alan. In his free time, Mr. Trumbo enjoys skiing, sailing, and playing tennis.
