Purpose

Every ten (10) years, Article 1, Section 2 of the United States Constitution mandates a count of all the people living in the United States and its territories.  The 2020 Census will address every household in the nation with a simple questionnaire with the goal of counting everyone once, only once, and in the right place.  Data obtained by the survey will provide statistical support for grant applications and help the community plan for future needs.  The United States Census Bureau has encouraged all localities to appoint a local Complete Count Committee to bolster participation in the Census and on August 8, 2019, the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors adopted a Resolution appointing a local Complete Count Committee for the upcoming 2020 Census
