ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

1) The Recording Department for deeds and other land records will accept delivery of in-person recordings at the Public Service counter.  Please provide contact information when delivering your documents.  Due to the volume of documents, customers will not be allowed to wait for service in the lobby or record room.  Thank you for your consideration.

2) The Clerk of the Court is offering E-FILING for certain civil actions through VJEFS (Virginia Judicial E-Filing System). 

3) The Sheriff's Office is scanning all people coming to the Clerk's Office at the 29 Ashby St. entrance.  To speed up security and limit personal contact, only bring items related to your transactions in the courthouse.  No electronic devices are permitted. (07/11/2023: Fauquier Courthouse Security Order)

4) THE USE OF PHOTOGRAPHIC AND/OR RECORDING DEVICES IS PROHIBITED IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE, RECORDS ROOM COURTROOM.  This policy has been implemented to prevent the unlawful dissemination of personal information.

5) EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2024: By authorization of Chief Judge Fleming, and with the consensus of the 20th Circuit Judges - The Clerk’s Office will no longer accept official court filings via e-mail, e-mail attachments, or as e-mail links.
