E-FILING FOR ATTORNEYS

E-filing of civil cases with the Circuit Court is available through the Virginia Judiciary E-Filing System (VJEFS) developed by the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia. 

E-filing is available for cases that were set up by e-filing.  The case types available for e-filing include:

    Contract Actions, Motor Vehicle cases, Specific Performance, Partitions, Complaints to Quiet Title, Guardian Appointments, Counterclaims, Third Party Claims, Divorces, and Reinstatements.

Service by Sheriff: Service of process may be requested and payment made at the time of filing.  The Clerk will print up to 20 pages of copies for service at the rate of $.50 per page.   In lieu of paying for copies, counsel may send copies of the service papers to the Clerk's Office.  Copies of service papers must be sent to the Clerk's Office if the print count exceeds 20 pages.

Service by Private Process: Documents for private process will be available for counsel to print from VJEFS.

Document submission:  Please send each pleading, exhibit, and correspondence as a separate submission.

Registration:  If you are already a registered VJEFS e-filer, you do not need to notify this office before e-filing.  If you have not registered, complete the registration application and deliver it to the Clerk's Office or e-mail the
