- TEXT-26-026250 - A Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment to Section 13-300 Appeals and Section 13-600 Violations, Infractions and Penalties
The Virginia General Assembly recently adopted amendments to the Code of Virginia provisions related to Zoning Ordinance appeals and penalties for certain Zoning Ordinance violations. This amendment to Section 13-300 Appeals and Section 13-600 Violations, Infractions and Penalties will ensure the Zoning Ordinance remains in accordance with the Code of Virginia. - TEXT-26-026129 - A Design Standards Manual Text Amendment to Chapter 2: Drainage related to Stormwater Management
Fauquier County's Design Standards Manual (DSM) Chapter 2: Drainage (Section 200.2) applies stormwater management standards to any development or use which converts 10,000 square feet or more of land from pervious to impervious or disturbs one acre or more. This is more restrictive than the Code of Virginia, which requires stormwater management for development that disturbs one acre or more. The inconsistency between the DSM and Code of Virginia causes confusion and can be burdensome to landowners, small development projects, and Community Development staff. The proposed amendment would align the language in the DSM with the standard in the Code of Virginia. (Kaitlyn Worley, Staff). Materials can be found on the Land Development Portal.
