Home MenuComprehensive Plan Amendments
Overview
The Comprehensive Plan is the foundation for all decision making involving land use planning and growth management. It is a living document and thus must be updated and amended periodically. This is necessary to ensure the Plan remains consistent with the vision and goals set forth by the community, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Supervisors. It is also necessary to ensure it remains consistent with and reflective of current needs as they change and evolve over time. This page is dedicated to cataloging past amendments as well as to posting updates to the Fauquier County Comprehensive Plan as they are proposed by the County as well as by others through the applicant-sponsored amendment process.
The draft text, figures, tables, illustrations, and maps for all proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan will be posted below. Supplemental or supporting information may be posted as necessary. Once an update is adopted by the Board of Supervisors, it will be incorporated into the complete Comprehensive Plan and cataloged by year under the "Adopted Amendments Catalog" section below.
Complete files for all amendments, both past and proposed, can be obtained through the Planning Office. Materials and information for currently-proposed amendments will also be available via meeting agendas for the Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors, and if utilized, the appropriate citizen advisory group.
