Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the Catlett and Calverton Waste Water Treatment System? A system providing waste water (Sanitary Sewer) services to properties within the District, see map above, via connection to the County system. This is transported via gravity, pumps, and in ground pipes to a treatment facility and treated. This takes the place of your septic tank. For a detailed look at the system for your property, click Here for the User Guide.
Who manages this system? This is managed by the County with a contract with Inboden Environmental Services Inc. Inboden is your main source for information, questions, and maintenance.
Where do I start? Make sure you’re in the service district and review the Design Standards Manual. This has in-depth, and all the information you need to understand the system and apply. Once you review the Manual and you have questions, contact Inboden Environmental at (800) 648-1010 for help. Once your application is received, you will be assisted by Inboden and County staff to completion.
What does it cost? There are connection fees, standard usage fees, and costs for installing your STEP (Septic Tank Effluent Pump- replaces your septic tank) system on your property and septic tank abandonment. These costs are outlined in the Design Standards Manual.
What do I do with my existing septic system? Your septic system must be abandoned and properly collapsed. Information and forms are in the Design Standards Manual.
For all information regarding this project and all required application forms and processes, please reference the Design Standards Manual.
