The Emergency Management organization is a flexible organization and its responsibility, emergency operations, is specified in ESF #5 (Emergency Management). This basic response organization is augmented, as necessary, by other County agencies and volunteer organizations, which are assigned specific tasks in their respective ESF’s. This organization may be expanded further by implementing the Statewide Mutual Aid (SMA) Agreement. The Fauquier County Administrator serves as Director of Emergency Management, and is in overall command of any emergency response operation. They are assisted by the Fauquier County Fire and Rescue Chief who functions as the Fauquier County Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC), and the Fauquier County Assistant Chief, who functions as Fauquier County Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator along with an additional Emergency Management Deputy Coordinator.
