How to Prepare for Recycling:

All materials containing metal, both ferrous and non-ferrous, are recyclable. 

Small metal object such as nails, nut and bolts, small gardening tools etc., should be placed in the Small Metal container at the sites. 

Larger metal items should be recycled in the bulk metal containers at all locations or in the scrap metal pile at Corral Farm.

Metal items such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, roto tillers and other yard equipment must be drained of all fluids prior to recycling at Corral Farms.

Why Recycle?

In FY25 Fauquier County diverted approximately 1500 tons of scrap metal from the Landfill. 

Metals can be recycled repeatedly without losing quality.
