STANDING COMMITTEES

BIDS AND CONTRACTS COMMITTEE

Purpose:  Review and approve bids, specifications, contracts, change orders, and other related documents and matters. The Committee is authorized to approve work as outlined up to a limit of $50,000.

Meetings:  As needed

BUDGET COMMITTEE

Purpose:  Develop and oversee the Parks and Recreation Department budget process

Meetings:  As needed

Members:  Clayton Lescalleet and Joseph Villari

ENERGY CONSERVATION COMMITTEE

Purpose:  Evaluate the use of departmental energy consumption to identify opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint and energy expenditures

Meetings: As needed

HALL OF HONOR COMMITTEE

Purpose:  Recognize individuals, families, organizations, businesses, and/or other groups that have been invaluable benefactors to the furthering of parks and recreation in Fauquier County

Meetings:  As needed

MARSHALL COMMUNITY CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Purpose:  Serve as liaison between the center supervisor and the citizens of the community. The committee not only works to improve the site and future plans of the center but it also assists in promoting the value of leisure services, encourages volunteerism, develops additional funding opportunities, and establishes the center as a focal point for leisure services and community spirit.

Meetings:  Normally held on the third Monday of each month at 6:30p

Members:  Robert Glascock, Skip Glascock, Terri Hill, Smokey Jacobs, Norris Royston, Larry Scheuble, Ruth Umbel, and Evelyn Eichorn
Parks and Recreation Members: Clayton Lescalleet

PARKS AND RECREATION/SCHOOLS COOPERATIVE COMMITTEE

Purpose:  Review issues and implement decisions through the Committee’s Agreement and Operational Guidelines

Meetings: June and December on the second Tuesday and as needed

Voting Members: 

●  Two Parks and Recreation Board members: Tommy Bailey and John Wright

●  Two School Board members: Donna Grove and Suzanne Sloane

●  Parks and Recreation Director: Gary Rzepecki

●  Assistant Superintendent for School Administration or designee:

David Graham, Executive Director for Administration

Ex-Officio (non-voting) Members:

●  Facilities Director and other school division staff as determined by the Assistant

            Superintendent for Administration:  Tom Edwards, Facilities Director

        ●  Parks and Recreation Department staff as determined by the Director

SENIOR OLYMPICS COMMITTEE

Purpose:  Coordinate departmental efforts with the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics Committee

Meetings:  As needed

Members:  Joseph Villari

TOWNS OF WARRENTON, REMINGTON & THE PLAINS LIAISONS

Purpose:  Coordinate efforts with towns in the county        

Meetings:  As needed

Members:  P&R Board Member, Center District & Warrenton Town Council: John Wright

        P&R Board Member, Lee District, & Remington Town Council: 

        P&R Board Member, Scott District, & The Plains Town Council: Clayton Lescalleet

VINT HILL VILLAGE GREEN PLANNING/DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Purpose:  Responsible for oversight of strategic planning, coordination, and opportunities within and around the Vint Hill Village Green

Meetings:  As needed
