Volunteer efforts assist the Parks and Recreation Department in achieving its mission of enhancing the quality of life for all people in the county. Whether you have two hours a week or two hours a year, you can make a difference and have fun too!
Contributions of time, energy and experience make it possible for people of all ages to have an enjoyable recreation experience. With almost 1000 maintained acres, including parks, recreation centers, trails, lakes and historic sites the opportunities to volunteer can be as varied as the facilities. These opportunities can include:
- Special Events Coordination and Events Planning
- Park Maintenance/Landscaping
- Historical Research/Re-enactments
- Computer Consulting
- Bike and Road Race/Senior Olympics Assistance
Parks & Recreation has partnered with PATH Volunteer Hub to promote some of the volunteer opportunities that are available for the department. Please visit www.letsvolunteer.org for listings of some of our opportunities or contact 540-422-8550.
