Over the years, Fauquier County has benefitted from a rich legacy of generosity by individuals and families, local business and corporations, and foundations who have donated their time, land, and funds, and established ongoing partnerships, to make the Parks & Recreation Department what it is today. We are truly grateful for all these contributions, including those of our taxpayers and those who utilize our fee- based activities.

Donations have played a key role in supporting the development and enhancement of park facilities and programs.  Every contribution, from small donations to major gifts, has helped.  

If you are considering making a gift to support our wonderful county parks, we would be very happy to discuss park needs and opportunities and your vision and goals.  The Parks Director and/or a member of the Fauquier Parks Foundation will meet with you at your convenience. A key feature of our development effort is naming rights.  A major gift from a donor will be recognized by bestowing naming rights to a property in recognition of their financial support.  From a park bench to a building to a ball field, swimming pool, trail or establishing a scholarship fund, there many opportunities to support and name a Fauquier Parks asset or program.  The Fauquier Parks Department has a long list of opportunities.

Supporting the Fauquier Parks Department is the Fauquier Parks Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to encourage and cultivate financial support for Fauquier County Parks and Recreation initiatives including the development and enhancement of parks, trails, facilities and recreation programs, and the acquisition and preservation of open space for the benefit of the community.

The Foundation holds and manages donated funds and assets until they are utilized by the Fauquier Parks and Recreation Department for new projects and initiatives.

The Foundation welcomes all types of donations including cash, stocks and securities, real estate, tribute and memorial gifts, business and corporate contributions, foundation grants and in-kind contributions.
