Report a Safety Concern

If you observe unsafe conditions or unsafe behavior, you may report your concerns to the Fauquier County Human Resources Department by completing our online form. Reports may be submitted for all county and school locations.

Fauquier County remains committed to providing a safe workplace as required by OSHA regulations:

**OSH Act of 1970 SEC. 5. Duties**
(29 USC 654)
(a) Each employer -- shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees; shall comply with occupational safety and health standards promulgated under this Act. (b) Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to this Act which are applicable to his own actions and conduct.

The reporting program is designed to assist in identifying unsafe conditions. Reports will be handled promptly and discreetly; however, sufficient and detailed information is necessary to conduct an appropriate investigation. Individuals will not suffer any retaliatory action for reporting or inquiring in good faith. Retaliation against any individual for making a good faith disclosure is not allowed by law. There are other reporting options available to you including talking to your supervisor or via local reporting mechanisms. The Hotline does not replace existing reporting mechanisms, but rather serves as an additional option.
