Application for the Bracey Family Commitment to Service Scholarship
The Bracey Family Commitment to Service Scholarship is in honor of Glenn Bracey. Glenn was a 1974 graduate of Fauquier High School who, after serving in military intelligence overseas, launched a career in policing, serving first with the Warrenton Police Department then with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Department. Those years shaped his love and admiration for our region’s first responders. This scholarship is designed for residents of Fauquier County who are working as Interns or Cadets with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Department and/or the Warrenton Police Department and pursuing a career in Criminal Justice. First priority is given to the candidate who demonstrates financial need, a commitment to service through their involvement with the Sheriff’s Department, Warrenton Police Department or in criminal justice class in high school or prior military service. Applicants should have community service experience and/or work experience, possess an academic record that displays initiative, and show a commitment to their chosen field of study.

Application for the Fauquier Cops for Children Scholarship
The Fauquier Cops for Children Scholarship is in the spirit of promoting positive relationships between law enforcement and children in the Fauquier community! The Fauquier Cops for Children is offering three (3) $1,500 scholarships per year to students who are looking to further their education at either a 2-year or 4-year college or university, or a trade school. The requirements for this scholarship are as follows:
• Must be a graduating senior at a Fauquier County Public High School.
• Applicants should be able to demonstrate community service and/or work experience and possess an academic record that displays initiative and commitment to their education.
• Letter(s) of recommendation are encouraged and can come from a school professional, employer and/or civic leader.
Applications can be submitted commencing January 1st and must be received no later than March 1st. Decisions will be made prior to April 1st and the recipients of each of the three (3) scholarships will be notified promptly by email.
