Major Mike Zeets, a highly valued, 24-year veteran of the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office, is currently Commander of Law Enforcement Operations. He oversees and provides support for all operational needs of the Sheriff’s Office, including Criminal Investigations and Patrol Divisions.

Major Zeets serves as liaison with many local, state and federal partners including; the FBI - Washington Field Office, Department of Homeland Security - Investigations, DEA, ATF, Virginia State Police, Warrenton Police Department, Remington Police Department and Lord Fairfax Community College Police. 

A graduate of Liberty High School and the Virginia Department of Forensic Science Academy, Major Zeets moved up through the ranks, supervising Communications, Corrections, Animal Control, Patrol, as well as Criminal Investigations, during his tenure. 

Major Zeets is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, FBI LEEDA, Virginia Sheriff’s Association, the Virginia Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators Virginia Gang Investigators Association and the DFS Academy Alumni Association.
