Adult Detention Center - Houses and safely keep all  prisoners remanded to the custody of the Sheriff.  Prisoner transportation.  24-hour daily operation.

Animal Control - Provides coverage for calls regarding animal problems throughout Fauquier County.

Civil Process/Court Security Division - Court papers issued, warrants, evictions, repossessions, levies, sheriff sales, extraditions, and Security of the Courts. 

Community Service - Educating our community to protect their personal safety by protecting themselves from crimes.  Chaplain Program, Child Identification, Crime Prevention Resources, Law Enforcement Explorers, Neighborhood Watch, Project Life Saver, and more.

Criminal Investigation Division - Investigates major crimes, serious misdemeanor cases, and assists Patrol with criminal investigations.  Specializes in crimes such as sex crimes, crimes against children, financial and property crime, larceny, robbery, arson, burglary, homicide and death investigations.  The Street Crimes Unit specializes in crimes involving narcotics and other street-level misdemeanor and felony crimes. 

Emergency Communications Center - 9-1-1 communications center, operating 24 hours a day.

Patrol - Uniformed patrol functions, 24 hour response to initial accidents and investigation of crimes, traffic control and enforcement, School Resources Officers (SRO's) and Community Services.

Property - Custodians for all safekeeping, found and evidentiary items booked by Fauquier County Sheriff's.

Professional Standards - Records, FOIA (Freedom of Information Act), Training and Accreditation.

Specialties  - is a sub-division which oversees and manages multiple specialized units within the Sheriff's Office, including Special Weapons and Tactics team, Canine Team, Unmanned Aircraft System Team, Crisis Negotiations Team, Patrol Bicycle Unit, Firearms Range Masters, and Firearms and Weapons.  The Specialties Sub-Division is currently managed by a Lieutenant.
