The Professional Standards Division is responsible for Accreditation, Training, Property and Evidence, Records, Virginia Freedom of Information (FOIA) requests, and publishing the Daily Activity Report.

The Records staff provide a variety of services to department staff, government agencies and to the general public.  They are responsible for the checks and balances to ensure that accurate data is provided to the Virginia State Police Online Crime Information site and DMV TREDS.

*Please note that crash reports will only be released as per Va. Code Section 46.2-380.

There is a $10.00 fee which must be paid prior to processing the request.   

Submitting your request:  You may send your request via mail with a check, visit the office in person and pay by check or cash (see details below), or via email to Sheriff.FOIA@fauquiercounty.gov.

Note:  Checks should be made payable to:  Fauquier County Sheriff's Office and mailed along with the completed form to: Records Division, 78 W. Lee Street, Warrenton, Virginia 20186. If payment is in the form of cash (please visit the office in person and do not mail cash) we can only accept the exact fee amount, we cannot provide change.
