How to Speak at Citizens’ Time

Citizens’ Time is an opportunity to take part in the regular Board meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.  This portion of the agenda is set aside for citizens who wish to address the Board on any topic that is not scheduled for public hearing.

  • Citizens need not give prior notice to speak.  
  • Speakers are respectfully requested to state their full name and magisterial district for the record. 
  • Citizens are encouraged to keep their comments to three minutes.   
  • Written copies of statements made at public hearings are requested but not required.


TWO WAYS TO SIGN UP

1In Advance:

  • Email bos@fauquiercounty.gov no later than 12 p.m. on meeting day.
    •  Include your full name, magisterial district, and the topic (or note “Citizens’ Time” for general comments).

2. On Arrival:

  • Sign the speaker sheet at the front desk near the entrance no later than 6:30 p.m.
    • Include your full name, magisterial district, and the topic (or note “Citizens’ Time” for general comments).


     At the microphone
  • State your full name and magisterial district for the record.
  • Limit comments to three minutes.
